If you’re always on the lookout for ways to get some hands-on Vue.js coding experience, then Vue School has got just the solution for you!

We are hosting the 4th edition of Vue.js Forge Powered by Kadena, taking place online from 2-3 August, this year.

It’s the largest hackathon-style Vue.js event ever and this time round we will be building a Kickstarter Clone… More to the point, it’s a blockchain crowdfunding app!

That’s right, everyone’s talking about blockchain and this is an excellent opportunity for you to get in on the action, for free!

Gone are the days of centralized control and limited access, today, the power is in your hands!

If you didn’t know it already, blockchain technology is a decentralized ledger that enables secure and transparent transactions without the need for intermediaries. You’ll also have the chance to learn about Crowdfunding and discover Web 3, which incorporates concepts such as decentralization and token-based economics…

Web3 is a cool “new” concept that promises to revolutionize the internet. Instead of big companies controlling access to the net, Web 3 is all about decentralization, meaning regular people can own and control parts of the internet.

It’s trustless, meaning instead of relying on trusted third parties, Web3 uses incentives and economic mechanisms to keep things running smoothly. It uses cryptocurrency for online transactions, and last, but not least, it’s permissionless, meaning everyone has an equal chance to participate!

Crowdfunding is a great way to gather financial support and bring ideas to life without having to rely on traditional funding sources like banks or venture capitalists. Instead, you can tap into the power of the crowd through online platforms.

How does that tie into the project build?

Blockchain technology provides transparency, security, and trust in transactions, making it an ideal match for a crowdfunding app. By leveraging the power of blockchain, the app can ensure that funds are securely managed and that backers have a clear view of how their contributions are being used. Together, blockchain and crowdfunding can transform the way projects get funded and bring exciting ideas to life.

Learn from Vue.js industry experts

You’ll team up with thousands of Vue.js developers from around the world to build your app from the ground up in just 2 days! Experts from the Vue.js community including Alex Kyriakids (CEO and Founder of Vue School), Maya Shavin (Senior Software Engineer at Microsoft), Daniel Kelly (Vue School Instructor), Vanessa Otto ( Lead Frontend Engineer at Zavvy), and others, will also be on hand to guide you through each step of building your own Kickstarter clone from scratch. 🚀

Cool developer tools and services you’ll get to work with

Kadena - a public blockchain network that is based on a braided, parallelized proof-of-work consensus mechanism and solves the scaling challenges of Bitcoin and the security issues of Ethereum.
Nuxt 3 - an open-source framework with an intuitive and extendable way to create type-safe, performant, and production-grade full-stack web applications and websites with Vue.js.
Sauce Labs - a full-scale testing platform that supports every stage of your software development and operations lifecycle to ensure complete digital confidence.

➕ Composition API, TypeScript, TailwindCSS, daisyUI, and more to be confirmed!

What can you expect from the Vue.js Forge 4 event?

During Vue.js Forge Episode 4, you’ll interact with the Kadena blockchain from a Vue.js front-end to power a crowdfunding app. You can be brand new to Web 3 and attend the event without prior knowledge of the blockchain or Kadena - Vue School will walk you through the pertinent Web 3 aspects of the project.

For developing the front-end, we will, of course, use Vue.js, and you will be expected to have a fairly good grasp of this technology. There are, however, a number of Vue School courses you could use to prepare for the Vue.js tech and concepts they’ll be working with, including Vue.js 3 Fundamentals with the Composition API, VueUse for Everyone and Rapid Development with Vite. Of course, you’ll also learn plenty of new tips and tricks specific to our favorite front-end framework during the event!

This an excellent opportunity to dabble in the decentralized web, all within the context of a Vue.js application, and interact with smart contracts via JavaScript.

So, if you want to see how it all comes together, Vue School is giving everyone the opportunity to sign up for this event FREE of charge. Don’t miss out - reserve your free ticket!
