Vue School Hire App described as a “breath of fresh air” for developer recruitment

In February 2022, Vue School launched the beta version of the Hire App, a new way to hire developers by creating a direct connection between hiring companies and developers who are looking for new opportunities.

In a recent interview with Vue School, Everett Owyoung, Head of Talent for ThousandEyes (a Cisco company) mentioned that he wanted to push his team to try new things, a new tactic and approach that not a lot of companies are trying. With this intention in mind, Mr Owyoung took up the opportunity to subscribe his team to the Hire App.

Skills, experience and location search help to find the right candidates

When asked about what made the product a good fit for his company, Mr Owyoung mentioned that “Candidate skill set matching up to the hiring needs”. The Hire app allows recruiters to search a database of 100s of developers for specific skills, experience and locations, thereby saving precious time by narrowing down searches to candidates that are a good fit for the position.

Connect directly with candidates using the chat function

Once a recruiter has identified suitable candidates, they have the ability to connect and chat directly to the developers. On this, Mr Owyoung had this to say “What changed with using the Hire App was utilizing the chat function. The simplicity of being able to connect with a dev, get on a call. Not a lot of ways the process can break.”.

A simple, unique solution for hiring developers

“As a people leader with ThousandEyes,” Mr Owyoung added “I am overwhelmed with other platforms and getting spammed with messages and automated outreach. I have had to block people on certain platforms. The sheer number of pings can get scary.”. His experience, however, with the Hire App he described as “more unique and simple”, and further added, “as it is, it is like a breath of fresh air”.

Value for money

ThousandEyes have successfully recruited through our platform and continue to use Hire App as it not only provides the functionality to help with recruitment, but as Mr Owyoung confirmed, delivers value for money. Priced at an affordable monthly susbcription, the Hire App solution reduces not only the time and people cost it takes to hire developers, it also can save your organisation on the bottom line with substantially reduced recruiter fees.

If you are a developer interested in new opportunities, or an organisation looking for experienced developers, please visit our Hire App page.
